I am board certified as both an Adult (primary care) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I combine both to provide integrative, comprehensive care informed by the latest practice guidelines and research. I received my graduate training from the University of Maryland. I have extensive post graduate training in women’s and perinatal mental health and have earned the Perinatal Mental Health Certification from Postpartum Support International. In addition to traditional medication management, I offer Mindfulness Training, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and lifestyle recommendations to help you meet your goals. Prior to starting my own practice, I held numerous roles in community psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Consult Liaison at Good Samaritan Hospital, and in a general group practice. I started my nursing career as a RN at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
I am also the co-author of Beyond The Egg Timer: A Companion Guide For Having Babies in Your Mid-Thirties and Older. This is THE BOOK for anyone having a baby later in life or for Millennials who are worrying about their fertility now. In addition to my Nurtured Well blog which focuses on things that affect women of all ages and stages, I blog at Psychology Today on fertility and older mom specific issues.
I am available for speaking engagements. You can see me interviewed on ABC here.
